Dagmar Doko Waskönig

Dagmar Doko Waskönig has been practicing Zazen since the late Seventies, and since 1983 with her first teacher Taiten Guareschi Roshi. She received a formative and comprehensive education in his monastery Shobozan Fudenji in Italy, and ordained in 1986.

In Fudenji, Doko also served as director of a Six-Years-Study-Programme since the early Nineties.

In 2003, her second teacher Gudo Wafu Nishijima Roshi in Tokyo transmitted the Dharma to her, to enable her to teach as a Zen Master. Because of her good connections with the vietnamese Pagode Vien Giac in Hannover, she was able to receive Bhiksuni ordination in 2005. Doko is the spiritual leader of the Zen Dojo Shobogendo.

She has been working in different functions for the German Buddhist Union (DBU) since the Mid-Nineties.
