An Invitation from Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo

Dear Friends,

Firstly, I would like to send my prayers, thoughts and wishes to all friends from around the world. Especially those who are sick, those who have experienced loss, and those who are still under lockdown during this pandemic are in my heart and mind at this difficult time.

It is my great pleasure to announce that a call for proposals for the 17th Sakyadhita International Conference is now open. The conference is scheduled to take place in Kuching, Sarawak, Eastern Malaysia from December 24th – December 28th, 2021. We are looking for proposals for research papers, workshops and film screenings that relate to the conference theme: Buddhist Women Beyond Boundaries: Interfaith, Interdependence and Environment. I warmly encourage you to submit a proposal. For further information and instructions on how to submit your proposal, please download the attached Call for Proposals document.

The year 2020 has demonstrated that we live in a deeply interconnected world. Buddhist women's leadership and collaboration is more needed than ever to help guide this world in the direction of wisdom and compassion, and to help respond to profound challenges that the world is facing in these uncertain times.

Together with the conference organizing committee, I do hope that you will join us at the 17th Sakyadhita International conference, where you will have the opportunity to learn, share ideas and connect with a global community of monastic and lay Buddhist women of all traditions.

Despite these present challenging times, the conference committee is moving forward with plans to make this Sakyadhita conference an inspiring and stimulating Dharma event for people to attend from around the world.

I do hope to see you there,

~ Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo
